A Life Full of Blessings...

What a week and month it has been.  My intention was to start blogging regularly again.  My animals however apparently have other plans for my availability.  After many attempts to write a new post over the last week, I am finally able to take a breather this morning to write.  In the last week we have welcomed 5 new babies to the farm!  One amazingly gorgeous colt and 4 babies goats so far!  With all of the new arrivals, I am continually reminded of what a blessed life I live.  Every day, real life happens in my barn.  Sometimes it is a struggle and endless dirty work, and other times it is so full of magic and miracles I can't even put to words.  One thing is for certain, I am so lucky to be able to chase my dream and share my life with all of my animals.  Through complete and utter exhaustion this morning, I wanted to take the time to get a post up to at the very least announce the new arrivals. ​

 Beginning May 23rd, my mare Cheyenne blessed us with a stunning colt.  The birth was textbook perfect and effortless for Cheyenne.  This was her first and only time to have a baby so I am pleased that it went so well for her.  Cheyenne has health issues that ensure she won't be bred again.  She gets to enjoy raising her little boy and then her retirement and life as a therapy horse will follow.  This stunning little man has no name yet, but when I have a chance to finally think about it I will post an announcement introducing him properly.  This special little man is a double registered Rocky Mountain Horse.  I look forward to watching him grow and learn in his new role in the herd.  I have lots of time to figure out what we will do with this handsome guy.

The following day on May 24th, My Precious delivered us a stunning little girl and sweet little boy.  Precious is an amazing momma and doing such a great job with her little ones.  Her udder is incredible and makes me very excited about taking her into the show ring this year.  I haven't been excited about a first freshening udder in my herd for many years so this is quite exciting news!  Although I hadn't been planning on retaining any kids this year - Precious's daughter may just have to find a permanent home here.  She is quite something and has stolen everyone's hearts already!  The little boy will very likely be offered for sale as a breeding buck.

That brings us to this morning and the safe arrival of Cassi's twins!  Although it was another long and sleepless night for me, in the end at about 5:30 this morning, Cassi delivered a healthy girl and boy.  I will take better photos of the new babies once I get some sleep and can see clearly again
